1517 Media is a multimedia company, comprised of four creative imprints: Augsburg Fortress, Beaming Books, Fortress Press, and Sparkhouse. We create resources for Christian worship and faith formation, for academic study and professional development, and for individual edification and spiritual growth.

1517 Media Human Resources is seeking an HR intern who is ready to create new resources and grow as a professional this spring, 2019. The intern will work between 15-20 hours/week during normal business hours. This position will offer unique exposure to hands-on learning opportunities in many different areas of the Human Resources field, including onboarding, program development, and corporate communication. The HR intern will work closely with all members of the HR team, and will report to the Director of Human Resources.

The HR Intern will:
• Assist the HR team with branding the employee experience
• Edit company-wide communication documents
• Assist with summer internship preparation and onboarding
• Assist with coordination of employee initiatives by helping to communicate company-wide notifications and events
• Be exposed to data maintenance in systems such as ADP
• Research and present HR trends
• Complete additional administrative duties

Desired education and experience:
• A minimum of 2-3 years of college coursework in human resources, psychology or related fields

Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities:
• The ability to work independently on assigned projects using good judgement and organizational skills
• The ability to maintain confidentiality and perform in a highly professional manner as a member of the human resources team
• A commitment to establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with co-workers, employees, contacts and other vendors
• The ability to work with InDesign and Adobe Acrobat programs
• Strong project management skills
• The capacity to forecast the needs of the human resources team
• Proven history of producing error-free work using current computer software
• Demonstrable interest in and ability to learn current and best practices within various areas of human resources
• An aptitude for creativity and conceptualization
