Title: Publicity and Marketing Assistant, The Experiment
Description: The Experiment is seeking a full-time Publicity and Marketing Assistant to join our fast-growing independent publishing company.

Responsibilities include:

• Writing, copyediting, and proofreading publicity, marketing, and sales materials
• Assisting in developing media campaigns and marketing plans for individual titles
• Assisting in conceptualizing, organizing, and implementing author tours on select titles and planning exhibits at events including BEA and The Brooklyn Book Festival
• Assisting with media publicity mailings and follow-up via email and phone as required
• Creating sell sheets, newsletters, postcards, and other promotional materials
• Sending out weekly publicity and sales reports
• Maintaining and developing company social media (including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
• Working closely with the Publicity and Marketing Manager on building and maintaining relationships and connections with media contacts
• Assisting in preparation for biannual sales conference and assembling sales kits and materials
• Assisting in the training and supervising of interns in daily tasks
Requirements: We seek a recent college graduate who is extremely curious and attuned to current trends, thinks creatively, is an unceasing initiative-taker and happy to work both independently and collaboratively, and who has superlative communication skills.

Candidates must have:

• A Bachelor’s degree
• Some previous experience in Media Publicity and Marketing Communication useful
• Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communications skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task across activities and projects
• A strong interest in nonfiction publishing, especially in the areas in which The Experiment publishes
• An aptitude and desire for learning new software programs
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of HTML, Photoshop, and InDesign a plus
